Wallace, Kilmeade not happy with Fox and Friends for two hours of Obama bashing
Have you guys seen this video?
Chris Wallace, the Sunday anchor for Fox News Channel, smacked down his colleagues at the network's morning show, Fox and Friends, for what he called "two hours of Obama bashing."
Just watch all three of them twist and turn in their chair as Wallace refuses to go along with their line of thinking.
And watch the face of Gretchen Carlson. She was ticked at Wallace!
Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade clearly was ticked off with his co-anchors. And he got up and walked off the set!

yes, and I love it. I believe Chris was standing up for what is fair and right here.

Roland, I think that Fox has gone beyond ratings, sensationalism and voyeurism. What Fox is doing is nauseous. What we are seeing is deep seeded biasness by ulta cynics who think that the platform they have gives them the right to lift a person’s comment out of context for the purpose of furthering their not so hidden ideology. FOXNEWS needs to remove the “Fair and Balance.” And put Not fair an unbalanced. I know some whites would say that I’m being a separatist when I suggest African Americans having our own network so that America can hear and see another point of view. No I’m not opposed to blacks like yourself appearing on white own media networks. But there is a reality that I’ve seen and that is ultimately Blacks in the media don’t have a strong position on the networks to fully delve into black thought. Fox days are numbered.

Yep---saw it and referenced it on your blog post regarding Hannity. Please don't forgot to post the "Chris Matthews" one from Morning Joe on yesterday. MSNBC has it on their page. Joe Scarborough was squirming a little bit himself and wasn't too please with Chris' comments . Keep us informed, you are doing a great job. It's refreshing these types of blogs. Again Great Job!

Hi Roland - Chris Wallace was not the only one who took Fox and Friends to task for their non-stop Obama bashing. Brian Kilmeade was clearly disgusted with his colleagues constantly bashing Obama and said so. Fed-up, Kilmeade walked off the set during the live broadcast. It was priceless!!!!

Why can't somebody (a private citizen or Al Sharpton) take these haters to the courts of law? Do they have the rights to use the airwaves for their hateful propaganda?
As I said somewhere, we need some Black-owned TV networks to compete with FOX and CNN. We would own these TV stations, but we would put white faces (and few Black faces) as decoys to be used to challenge them all. The real power house behind the Black-owned stations would be people like Martin, Al Sharpton, (no Tavis Smiley please).

Roland, I did watch CNN last night as you indicated there was going to be discussion about the full text of the Wright sermon. I was disappointed to instead see that John King like the folks on FOX perseverated on one point or I should say one or two specific negative points about the sermon without attempting to understand it further in context not to just the entire sermon but to the text which Rev. Wright was reflecting upon. Once I had an opportunity to look at the text myself, it occurred to me that any first year theology student should recognize the use of prophetic oracles and the biblical notion of blessings and curses. God damned many nations including that of His chosen people, Israel, so I'm perplexed as to why Bay (?) Buchanon would be so hysterical about damning the United States. I would like to suggest that like Chris Wallace perhaps the next time the good folks on CNN want to continue in this same vein you either tell them to put a lid on it or address the sermon in its full text with the aid of a true biblical scholar rather than a bunch of political pundits who clearly haven't bothered to pick up a Bible other than to simply move it out of their way. Honestly, CNN has become about as useful and informative on this issue as TMZ.

Roland, it seems to me that there is one major point that I haven't seen or heard anyone make as of yet. The Obama critics have made a point about Barack's and Rev Wright's comments, saying how we would be in such an uproar if a white person had made these comments (which is probably true). However, my question to these critics is how do they think they might feel if the White and African American history and experience was transposed? Would they still have the same view of America? If they would answer that question truthfully I would think not. As an African American with a sense of our history, it is not that we are so unpatriotic but more like we have experienced the not so great part of America. We still understand the greatness of America but we know that there is more to this country than "baseball, apple pie, and the fourth of July". People like Rev. Wright believe that it is part of their commitment to the people they serve to criticize what they see as injustice to make a positive change for all. Deflecting criticism of America to what is good about this country doesn't make the bad invalid of non-existent.

It's good that somebody at Faux News is recognizing that Obama is at least trying to help America deal with its centuries of racist problems.
The thing is that the narrow-minded bigots do not want to help solve America's social sickness surrounding race. Their racist little minds need to keep Americans polarized, even as Americans are losing their homes, & their children continue to listen to Faux News and get dumber by the day.

Roland I wathced the clip you provided and was pleased that Chris Wallace took the high road. No matter how Fox Frenz defends their position, the fact of them as well as the whole network bashing Obama, there is no excuse. African Americans need their own voice. Now that BET is own by a white comglomerate you can bet the format is slowly changing to where ultimately whites are determining the content.

don't be fooled! this was a staged 'objection' to what is a clear, network-sanctioned pattern of racist commentary.
please get on board with the boycott of msnbc on wednesdays. click the link for more information:

When talking about African American patriotism, Barack said it best to Terry Moran (ABC Nightline), he said, "African American patriotism is not marching bands, but more like jazz with bluenotes, we still appreciate America".

Please, please people email MSNBC at letters@msnbc.com and post the Pat Buchanan comments http://buchanan.org/blog/?p=969 and DEMAND that this man be removed from MSNBC's lineup permanently!!! We need to do more than boycott Wednesdays - I am not interested in anyone who feels that I, as an African American should be grateful that my ancestors were brought here in slave ships, oppressed for 100s of years, lived through Jim Crow, segregation, humiliation and death! He is no better than, if not worse than the man he has condemned - Jeremiah Wright!!! Please lets not drop the ball on this one. There is power in numbers. Lets email, call and fax MSNBC. I am going to do some research and find out who their sponsors are and post them here in a couple of days. Thanks Essence Family.

MSNBC is for Obama
Fox News for McCain
CNN for Hillary
People here appear to be calling for censorship. Where's the tolerance for another point of view? Ya'll have the media locked up for heaven's sake:
The Liberal Media:
"Since 1962, there have been 11 surveys of the media that sought the political views of hundreds of journalists. In 1971, they were 53 percent liberal, 17 percent conservative. In a 1976 survey of the Washington press corps, it was 59 percent liberal, 18 percent conservative. A 1985 poll of 3,200 reporters found them to be self-identified as 55 percent liberal, 17 percent conservative. In 1996, another survey of Washington journalists pegged the breakdown as 61 percent liberal, 9 percent conservative. Now, the new study by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found the national media to be 34 percent liberal and 7 percent conservative.
http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/004/143lkblo.asp
Here's an example of bias from the WoP about Hillary in MI:
“44 Percent Vote Against Clinton”
I'm a conservative and in no way di I support the 'wicked witch' but gimme a break. I'd even have given her the heading: '56 Percent Win for Clinton' and that's saying a lot.
Glad to see Fox News take a stand and rightly so but it'll be a cold day in hell when MSNBC takes the "shivers up my leg" hardball guy (no pun intended), Keith Oberman, O'Donnell, et al to task for their over the top bias. Sad but on a lighter note we can now do our own research.

Petra -
You need to read my post and read the Pat Buchanan blog of March 21st. http://buchanan.org/blog/?p=969. Everyone on MSNBC is not for Obama. Read the blog!!!

Kit,
I read the column from that unrepentant bigot Pat Buchanan. Did he just write that "First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known." It comes off like Buchanan is saying that black folk should be thanking white people for the fact that we were brought here (against our own will) and suffered through countless of lives lost during the middle passage, the 246 years of slavery and 100 years of Jim Crow to reach the place where we are today. He doesn't understand that there's no excuse for the suffering that our ancestors suffered during slavery and Jim Crow which were crimes against humanity. The nerve of this man to bypass and throw that under the bus to say in effect to make a larger point that black folk now should be grateful. Talk about a slap in the face, how insulting.
And as far as us being "introduced to christain salvation". If he knew his history, he would have known that number first, Christianity began and was rooted in Africa and second, it was those in the name of christianity that supported, endorsed and defended slavery as well as Jim Crow. Keep in mind that lynchings in this country were often held on sunday after church and often viewed by white racist cristians who would sing gospel hyms. How in the hell could you call yourself a christian and at the same time support and defend Slavery and Jim Crow!! Pat Buchanan's article is outrageous and ignorant to the core.

I think CNN is taking all of FOX's viewer's that is why they have begun their own campaign of lightening up on OBAMA and issue's surrounding him. I like alot of your commentator's and find I disagree from time to time with them too. CNN does give both side's of liberal and conservatism is in all fairness to the viewer. RACE what is to be said about it should come from the halls of the college's and their NOW experience's. My daughter's both mixed racially has called me and asked me to VOTE for OBAMA and donate money to him instead of sending them food money for college. That say's alot about the DIVIDE in this country amoung the YOUTH voter's, they see none. They see a young man with asperations and goals sst out before him and them. I say let the YOUNG people have their wishes met and don't bash OBAMA on little mistakes he makes along the way, give him an opportunity like we would give our own CHILDREN if they were to be PRESIDENT OF THE USA.

I live in the Bahamas and I came across this article. Since March 11, I have been waiting for the press to bring it up. So Roland, I will hand it to you. I think this article about Bill Clinton should be investigated and the press should carry the story. The article is by the Associated Press, and talks about the deplorable and inhumane working conditions of workers in ethanol plant in Brazil. It appears Bill Clinton has shares in the company. The company is Brazil Renewable Energy Co., or BRENCO.

I finally was able to watch Brian get up and walk out...WOW where is his next job going to come from. His co-anchor's disrespected him and I was very offended by their lack of compassion for a man that had no reason to stand up for Obama than his understanding of this nations generational issue's. Really, it does boil down to elder's not understanding the youth view. If you look at the musicians, the artist's, the military and sports member's as Brian is apart of, they understand the social discord of elder conceptions of race as opposed to the youth's views. Thank you for sharing both vid's, gave me an eye opening view of where people's feelings are even in the media. I have come to respect young people and wish we had a better bridge of communications, rather than I am older and lived longer and know better than you (young person) with all this time to have learned from us your older people's mistake's which I thought that is what we have been teaching to them all along. Respectfully to all blogger's here! Nessa

The above blog entry written by Pat Buchanan is just horrible. I would really like to know why none of the news media this weekend pick up this blog entry written by him. Interesting we are in a major discussion regarding race and this article did not get any attention.

I think people need to be very minful of this election. Rush Limbaugh has called on republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton to encouage her to continue trying to destroy Barack Obama. Additionally, I think Sean Hannity and his crew has joined in doing the same. Notice how proud he was of reporting that he found the story of Dr. Wright? Obama's supporters should be proud that he searched so long and couldn't find anything to report on Obama himself, rather had to end up trying to make him accountable for the action of others. Which by the way, actions reported that were taken completely out of context. Then notice how they were happy to show their bias polls of Obama supporters slipping away. It seems that Hillary Clinton is also a part of Fox and Friends as she is now blaming the Obama Camp for MI & Fla instead of placing the blame on their elected officials. I don't blame Senator Obama because Senator Clinton went down to Florida after being slaughered in South Carolina and promised the voters that she would fight to have their voices heard. She left he name of the ballot in MI on purpose in order to have an outlet in case she find herself in the condition she is in now. She is now telling the voters that the others took their name off the ballot because they didn't think they were important. Furthermore, she is actually somewhat encouraging them to vote for Sen. McCain in the fall if she is not "given" the nomination.
The Democratic Party will be destroyed if the superdelegates do not read the handwriting on the wall. Sen. Clinton has started the negative campaign and will continue if the superdelegates do not follow the advice of
Gov. Richardson and bring this to an end. The Republicans called theirs long time ago to avoid this kind of destruction. Now they have time to mess up the dems and take the white house if the plans continue. Especially if they get enough to vote for Clinton in PA.
If we don't say, "Not this time", like Sen. Obama suggested, and keep falling for the traps set before us, we will be in the same condition four years from now.
It would be a pleasure to join in with a boycott or anything to do something with Fox News.

Roland, I want to thank you for everything that you are doing. I know you said on your morning show that you didn't want to be connected to a politician, but I really would love to see you a part of the Obama team. The FOX NEWS NETWORK has went over board. I am seriously disappointed to find the quality of services that is being rendered by this news station. I have had the opportunity to contact these stations via email, and I have not received a response as of yet.
Roland, FOX need eveyone to turn-up the heat on them; BLACK,WHITE,HISPANIC,& ASIAN. If we don't address this issue as a whole, the United States will have a very serious as well as dangerous situation on there hands. I hope we all see now that racism is clearly front and center.
P.S. Keep-up the good work we love you in Chicago.

I sent Brian a pat on the back of understanding. I do not take part in FOX network, but I felt compelled to let Brian know I understood where he was coming from. I don't want Brian to loose his job because his co-anchor's gave him a bad time as they always do. I used to watch the program and they constantly berate and disrespect him on that program. Honestly, I wish another network would make him a really good offer. He is a great commentator and tries to be ligh hearted. Shepard Smith is another anchor that cried for the victims of Katrina while there on location. I am not sorry I switched to CNN, because the anchor's like Betty Nyugen and T.J. and other's are friendly and fun to watch. Nessa

Here is the email address for MSNBC - letters@msnbc.com - to request that Pat Buchanan be permanently removed.
Here is the email I sent to MSNBC:
To Whom It May Concern,
As a loyal viewer I am disturbed that MSNBC allows someone with the views of Pat Buchanan to be a contributor on their network.
I read Pat Buchanan's latest blog dated 3/21/2008 -http://buchanan.org/blog/?p=969 and I was offended and disgusted that Mr. Buchanan believes that African Americans should be grateful to America for bringing them to American in slave ships; ships where millions lost their lives to come to a country where they were considered less valuable than animal stock, a country that enslaved and killed millions of blacks, a country that literally tore apart black families; a country that lynched blacks; where blacks had to endure Jim Crow, segregation, humiliation and death all because of the color of their skin. Mr. Buchanan thinks African Americans should be grateful for these years of oppression?!
Pat Buchanan has criticized Rev. Wright as un-American even with the history that he has lived, but Mr. Buchanan is un-American with no history of oppression in his past.
I request that Mr. Buchanan be removed in the MSNBC contributor's lineup immediately. His un-American views of fellow black Americans is repugnant and should not be rewarded by airtime on a reputable network. I suggest Mr. Buchanan find his way to Fox News where he can voice his hatred of African Americans openly and honestly and not hide behind a blog.
Thank you,
Loyal Viewer of MSNBC

You know I used to watch FOX news back in the day but turned away from them because I thought they had become clowns and what they are doing now has proven my point. I watched part of that interview but did not see the whole thing. I was shocked at how much time they are spending on this thing. Hannity is another one that I cannot stomach. I heard him say that he is going to keep bringing up the the Rev Wright story so that Barack Obama is not elected as president...not word for word but close. The media is being this hard on Barack now because they were accused of being too soft on him in the past. Now they are trying to throw their weight around to see who can "prove" something. I am disgusted with a lot of these anchors now. I watch CNN and some of MSNBC. Roland thanks for being a "fair" anchor.

I wanted to see if Brian showed up this morning on Fox and found the anchor's saying it was all a joke. If that is true then they should loose more viewer's for falsely making people feel that at least one anchor understood the nuance's Obama was trying to make in his interview. I find it dispicable that Brian would portray himself as understanding, when in actuality it was a ploy for the TV audience. If this is true then FOX deserve's to loose more than it's viewer's. Sponsership should be cut off to! Nessa

I just had the opportunity to read the Buchanan article and cannot find the words to express my anger - I think that it would be very very appropriate for MSNBC to terminate this warped ignorant white man from appearing on "Morning Joe", Chris Matthew's, or any other show that they sponsor.
Which is worst the words written by an ignorant white man ( who has no evidence to support his warped beliefs) or the words spoken by a man who can support what he says with the Bible. I think that I would select the latter.
Posted by: Nola | March 24, 2008 at 06:34 PM
And some people think the klan is inactive. Hannity, Buchanan, Dodd have their sheets on under those suits they're wearing and fox is headquarters.
If Hillary gets the nomination, McCain gets my vote and sometimes one vote is what counts.
