Jack Kemp pimp slaps Sean Hannity over Rev. Wright, Obama drama!
I had to run out of my apartment to do my live hit on CNN's AC360, but folks, tonight's show of Hannity & Colmes was a hot one!
The top guest was Jack Kemp, former congressman and the vice presidential running mate of Sen. Bob Dole in 1996.
He is a big supporter of Sen. John McCain and they were mostly discussing him and the polls showing him tied or leading Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
But as usual, Sean Hannity couldn't resist himself and he had to question Kemp about the controversy surrounding Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Hannity was his usual foaming at the mouth self, but Kemp wouldn't take the bait. In fact, he sounded more like an Obama supporter! Kemp said Obama denounced the comments by Wright; that he didn't believe Obama holds the same views as Obama; and that you can hold him accountable for something someone he knows says.
Sean kept bird-doggin' him, but Kemp was having NONE of it. At one point, it looked like Kemp was going to get up and leave, telling Hannity, "I"m not going round and round with you on this, Sean."
Hannity looked like a wounded, spoiled brat who got smacked across the face by his dad for not getting his way.
The show re-airs at 11 p.m. CST, and you gotta check it out.
When I finish with CNN, I'll pull the transcript and try to get the video. It's MUST SEE TV!
UPDATE Here's the video!

I to saw Kemp get on Shawn's last nerve, it was very right of Kemp to stand up for Senator Obama. How will all this petty back and forth over Rev. Wright's sermons get solved? I wish you did not have to spend every night defending the Reverend. This story has gone on long enough, and may I add the congregation should be the one's defending this issue. Giving Fox new's advertisement is really out of character for member's of CNN. I know they like to bash CNN as a liberal new's outlet (Wrong) your newscaster's are all over the scale of conservative and talking about Middle America's issue's. Honestly Roland, I guess this issue is getting on my last nerve, like Obama has said those that like him will stick by him. I know you are doing your best to educate people and asking them to listen to the whole sermons, but if they are not willing aren't they just proving there ignorance and unwillingness to learn. Nessa

I missed the Jack Kemp dressing down but did see Newt last night immediately put Sean in his place about what an invasion of privacy the passport security breach was - even before they had learned of the Hillary and McCain breaches. Sean was like an appeasing child and kind of pouty as he was forced to agree with the Master. When will the NON-FOX networks start looping clips like the Kemp lecture so we can all see that someone on the right can push Sean around for good reason. There is no fair and balanced on Any network. Kudos to Roland for bringing up the white preachers who shout invectives and hate speech but get a pass from whites. Time for loops of that for a little balance in this picture. Roland, you had to go against Bay, so keep it up and add loops of the white hate speech preachers.
I'm waiting for someone also to remind us that white scholars, terrorist experts and diplomats have written famous books about "Blowback," which is what "the chickens have come home to roost" implies. Wright is right, according to all these white experts - but it isn't politically popular to talk about.

Was watching tonight as well, Mr. Martin! Was very happy to see Jack Kemp check Sean Hannity on his nonsense. And Keith Olberman on MSNBC's Countdown talked about the admonishment by Chris Wallace on Fox to the group of commentators about their TWO HOUR OBAMA BASHING! Shameful!

Here is the link to the reference of the chickens are coming home to roost comment. Hopefully, after this holiday weekend this can all calm down and we can get back to the heart of the issues, health care, ending the Iraq war, and the economy.

Sorry to bust in on the Kemp/Hannity story Roland, but I thought folks ought to see this story on the Huffington Post. I know I found it interesting.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rj-eskow/how-will-hillarys-bosnia_b_92844.html
If you're Hillary Clinton and you've just been caught in a "whopper," the only thing to be grateful for is that it's Good Friday and people are distracted. How bad could this story be for her? When you tell the American public you faced gunfire, and it turns out all you really faced was a little girl with flowers - well, that's as bad as it gets. When you dramatically say you made a journey that was too dangerous for the President, only to have it revealed that he made the same trip two months earlier - and that your teenaged daughter was by your side - that only makes it worse.
And there's video.
If they wanted to, the networks could juxtapose video of Sen. Clinton's dramatic recitation of the battle with this clip of that sweet eight-year-old on the tarmac with a bouquet. The question is: Will they want to?
Just this week Sen. Clinton said that she landed in Bosnia under "sniper fire," adding: "There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base." Clinton used to tell Iowa audiences: ""We used to say in the White House that if a place is too dangerous, too small or too poor, send the First Lady."
And her 16-year-old kid?
This latest deception is documented in detail in the Washington Post by a reporter who was there. The paper awards her statements "four Pinocchios," a rating they reserve for political misstatements they describe as "whoppers."
"Whopper" (Merriam-Webster): "An extravagant
"Whopper" (Merriam-Webster): "An extravagant or monstrous lie."
Comedian Sinbad's now-famous response to Sen. Clinton's claims was to say, "What kind of president would say, 'Hey, man, I can't go 'cause I might get shot so I'm going to send my wife...oh, and take a guitar player and a comedian with you.'" He added, "I think the only 'red-phone' moment was: 'Do we eat here or at the next place.'"
As is often the case these days, the Clinton campaign responded to this observation by sticking to their story, and even embellishing it (in this case, with colorful details about running for cover under fire). That could turn out to have been a catastrophic mistake -- but that, as with so much in American politics, depends on the media and how they choose to handle it. They've saturated us for nearly two weeks with video of Rev. Wright, who as it turns out didn't say anything more extreme than what other candidates' spiritual advisors have said. Will this flap get the same attention? It remains to be seen.
Sen. Clinton's other honesty problem this week came with revelations that, while she claims to have been an internal NAFTA critic in the administration, she actually gave several presentations in favor of NAFTA at the time it was passed. But, to be fair, this may not be a deception. People are often called upon to advocate for decisions in public that they opposed in private. The NAFTA controversy suggests other concerns, such as: If she were such a vehement critic, and the administration backed it anyway, how important was she? And, how can she claim credit for the good deeds of her husband's administration and yet take no responsibility for its problems?
Still, Clinton's handling of the NAFTA question certainly raises concerns. Especially troubling is her campaign's work to spread rumors of Obama sending back-channel messages to the Canadians suggesting their anti-NAFTA rhetoric was all talk - when, according to a high-level Canadian source, her campaign had done that.
But it is the Bosnia whopper that remains the high-profile, easily documented embarrassment. Will the media run with it? It's hard to tell. Despite the Clinton campaign's PR-driven argument to the contrary, press coverage has tended to favor both candidates at different times. Right now Jim Vandenhei and Mike Allen at Politico are saying that the media's pushing a false narrative in favor of Clinton in order to promote the sense of an ongoing "horse race," arguing that her chances of taking the nomination are actually far less than has been reported.
That makes sense -- not because the media's "in the tank" for Clinton or Obama, but because a protracted race serves its own interests. By that reasoning, it's very possible they'll downplay a story like this. Why? Because it could end her candidacy once and for all. That would give the media one less story to cover.
In the end, maybe one lie shouldn't matter. Perhaps this doesn't reflect on how Sen. Clinton would govern. In our political system, however, it does matter ... but only if the media choose to make it matter. Had Obama been caught in a lie of this magnitude, his campaign might well be over. Had McCain been caught in a similar lie, however, the press would probably have hidden it (the same way they edited video of his recent Al Qaeda/Iran gaffe).
For me, the real subject of this story isn't the candidate who told an outrageous lie. It's the fact that our media holds unprecedented power. They, and the decisions they make about this story, may well decide whether Sen. Clinton's candidacy will survive.

Must. Get. Video.
That was fantastic. Kemp's heavy sighs. Calling Hannity out plainly on "guilt by association" and "ad hominem attacks."

THIS NEEDS TO BE ON THE NEWS THIS WEEKEND!!! PLEASE CHECK THIS STORY!
It NEEDS to be explained that the news only showed 15 seconds of a sermon in which he was quoting a white US ambassador.
Please check this link for the proof~
The full story behind Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s 9/11 sermon:

IT IS THE MORAL DUTY FOR MILLIONS OF AMERICANS TO SEE WHAT REV. WRIGHT ACTUALLY SAID!
Fox news & Hannity are the biggest RACIST hypocrites! They have some splainin' to do!

I've got video here.

Besides the non-stop rabid attacks against Obama for associating with his pastor, Hannity is also suggesting that Obama, himself believes what Wright does.
Really disgusting.

Sean Hannity and his ilk over at Fake News are getting desperate at the very possibility that an African-American is getting thisclose to the White House.
You know what desperation smells like, don't you? It's not exactly eau de cologne...or TEAM SPIRIT, either.
They also know if Obama gets the White House, Fox may have to go out of business because their correspondents will have zero access to White House pressers, will have to make stuff up and open themselves up to being sued for libel and slander for making stuff up.
You see Fake News starting to eat their own when Chris Wallace put the hosts of "Fox and Friends" on blast for their two hour bashing of Obama, and Brian Kilmeade getting up and walking out while still on the air...
May we continue to live in interesting times, people.
I always respected Jack Kemp. He's the example of what the Republican Party members should be, if you want to be all inclusive. He's more progressive than Republicans, too; not to mention some Democrats.

I am so ad that most of the american people believed the racist media reports abotu Wright. Wright was actually quoting a white US ambassador and here is the proof. As soon as I saw the video I wanted to know what was said before and after, but it seems that most people just believed it because it was on tv...how sad

I saw that suggestion by Sean Hannity Ellen. He disgust me. I also saw Jack Kemp give him the business as well (Kemp gave Hannity hell on his radio show earlier in the week. Hannity is a one sided, narrow minded racial hypocrite as well as a coward for not responding to Roland's challenge for a debate. This is a continuing trend with him (being called out by people and failing to respond). Bill Maher has called out Hannity for years because Sean will not appear on his show (whether it was on ABC or now when it's on HBO).

Thanks Roland--I can't wait to see the Hannity video and I'm so sorry I missed it. However, I did see the video of Chris Wallace on Fox and Friends yesterday. Maybe there are those who are saying, we are tired of this. In fact, last night on 360 you seemed very disgusted with the continuous "Rev. Wright" story. I'm so glad Barack didn't "throw Rev. Wright" under the bus like "Morning Joe and Pat Buchanan" wanted him to do so.

Roland, Just a another commentator--Chris Matthews on Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough, I think yesterday. The video is posted on MSNBC home page.

Roland,
You need to get on Hannity (and others’) show and say two thngs to them: “When & How did you accept Jesus as your LORD and Savior.” And then read James , especially about the Tongue. After that, you can truthfully publish how these conservative talk show hosts in reality (and you would have am imdemiable YouTube video or audio clip) DENY Jesus and want to take Scripture off the air. THAT would DEVASTATE them, as a good portion of their listener base would not only drop…but also counter attack.
Can i challenge you, seriously, as a Christian brother…i know it’s funny to talk about Hannity as (literally) the ANtiChrist/Damien…but you are lowering yourself to a Rush Limbaugh -type of attack. That kind of stuff poisons the facts. In the Uptown neighborhood, the condo owners point to the extremists on the low income housing side as being extremists. Yet they have anonymous bloggers & message board posters like IrishPirate who publish outrageous videos & hateful messages. So instead of having the crazy “Shilleristas” and the “true community”, the world only sees two extreme views.
Don’t be like them — don’t let their sinful ways poison your professionalism.
i love your work, and your directness (as well as willingness to have fun)— but STAY PURE!

And while Hannity is ranting about guilt by association, isn't it time he came clean about his own past association with white supremacist/neo Nazi Hal Turner?

I happen to remember seeing that, and I was laughing to my self that Sen. Kemp put Hannity in his place. I love it when someone of the likes such of Jack Kemp and Rev. Al Sharpton, will put someone like Hannity in their place.
