I listened to the entire message. That was a powerful message and it was from God. God is awesome and it is amazing that they would only play that part. That were a lot more juicier parts to that message. I also hope that whoever listened to the message, listened to the entire message and gave their life to God as a result because it was truly a message from the Holy Spirit. Thank you so much for letting us hear the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Roland,

Thank you for your analysis of the "GD America" sermon and I really want to say "Thank you" for making it available so we can hear it for ourselves and draw our own conclusion. If the media would take the time to listen to the entire sermon and give their honest opinion (maybe that's the problem; what we really need is an honest evaluation), there is no way they could honestly call it Anti-American because he appears to be speaking the truth and giving a fairly accurate history lesson.

This truly brings to light the racial divide that exist in this country. It also demonstrates how we still have a long way to go in this country and I'm very surprised and impressed that Obama has gotten as far as he has especially with this speech now lingering over his head. Only time will tell if America is ready for a Black President.

We need to figure out how to get both sermons out to the masses of people. The clips shown over and over in the media have served the purpose of crucifying Rev. Wright, but the truth as revealed in both sermons will effect his resurrection. I deeply appreciate your making these sermons available.

The most disappointing thing about the Rev. Wright incident is the complete failure of our news media. I was familiar with Wrights preaching before the brouhaha, so when it happened I was truly puzzled. How could anyone draw an opinion of a mans, and especially a pastors words with just a 10 second sound bite, and from that sound bite draw the conclusion that the speaker is hateful, or a racist. I knew then that no one who did actually had seen or read a Wright sermon.

What was insidious about the Rev. Wright story is that every report of those videos on TV, and in the reports of print media the description of the sermons as hateful etc were repeated over and over again. Many Americans view the reports of the media as actual truth. So regardless now of the actual context and meaning of his words he will be forever thought of as hateful and the career of a stalwart man of God is forever sullied.

That should disturb me, but I think I can estimate the heart of the Rev Wright. If only one soul is saved by hearing more than just 10 seconds of the word of God he will consider the condemnation worth it. That the storm over his sermon led to Obama’s speech on race he would consider a blessing.

These so called responsible journalist and not just those who represent the right wing owe both the American people and the Rev. Wright an apology, and the pledge to refrain from viral journalism.

I to believed in America so much that when Tarzan parading around in the jungle, had me cheering for him when he tarzan,I mean, was part of white America racist attitude. It's amazing how little we know about this racist, He has the audacity to Rob,Rape, Enslave, Discriminate,Invade, lie,Cheat,Lynch etc.And now he thinks we shouldn't speak in our churches, our homes, barber shops or anywhere, about him and his-STORY.All this I believed when I was too young to know better. There is know justice in him,he truly is the DEVIL,and soon we may suffer death and destruction with him.YES I HATE YOUR HISTORY AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU TO BE SO PROUD OF YOUR SINS AGAINST ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH.

AS far as I am concerned, the Clintons are responsible for this preacher saga. Remember that Ferraro went to FOX to say that Obama's campaign was attacking her because she is white. The Clintons normally stay away from FOX, but to get Obama smeared they had to send Ferraro.

Also, listen to Bill Clinton again, questioning Obama's patriotism using the preacher while elevating his wife and McCain:

Here is the full quote: "I think it would be a great thing if we had an election between two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interests of the country and people could actually ask themselves who is right on the issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics."

Tony McPeak, a retired Air Force general and current co-chair of Obama's presidential campaign, compared former President Bill Clinton to Joseph McCarthy Friday in response to comments Clinton made earlier in the day that appeared to question Obama's patriotism.

"It sounds more like McCarthy," McPeak said. "I grew up, I was going to college when Joe McCarthy was accusing good Americans of being traitors, so I've had enough of it."

Thank you! At last an opportunity to hear the whole of this profoundly prophetic sermon. I have been so angry at the media for picking one tidbit out of context and blowing it out of all proportion. Maybe they can't stand the heat of listening to the whole thing.

This strategic and sophisticated attack against Obama brings to mind Joseph's response to his brothers in the Old Testament when he explained that the enemy meant it for evil.....BUT GOD...!!!!!!(And of course I've chosen to paraphrase because it's soooo powerful to me and for me!) But, at any rate, the enemy.....the wicked one(s).....the evil one(s) meant it for evil, but God is gon' turn this thing around (as He has every allegation) and it will have a boomerang effect! It is going to make people - such as myself - pursue a copy of the message in its entirety....and it will be absolutely LIFECHANGING!!!!

God be with us all. As is evidenced, the enemy is conniving, shrewd, calculating, but let us be not deceived. Let's not buy into their ploy but remain focused and diligent in our assignment. Those of us that are in it to win it - come hell or high water - roll up your sleeves, jump into the ttrenches, because it's gon' get much worse if Obama continues to threaten the very fiber of this "U S of (KKK) A" society!

What is wrong with the "powers that be" in our society. Is this the best that they can do???? Focusing on a message that was delivered several years ago which has absolutely nothing to do with the man of the hour (Obama). I agree with AWB....this is goin' to get really dirty...and we need to don the whole armor of "God"...including the high hipped boots because we will be stepping in a lot of mess that we must clean up as christians.

i listened to the entire sermon that was displayed on the youtube.com.. it was very enlightening to me as a person and made my mind rethink about the 9/11 issue..the media (right wing consertatives) are blasting this man's message instead of listening and reading about what he is saying about the u.s. government..you may or may not have to agree with him, but this minister isn't racist nor prejudice at all..sean hannity, rush limbaugh, lars larson etc need to have an reality check when it comes to racism and making our government to be more responsible for their entire actions when it comes to make decisions affecting people..rev. wright is a great minister and i hate when the clintons as well the right-wing people take this the wrong way and use this against obama to hurt him as a man as well a political leader..the problem to make everyone understand in this country (no matter what national background you are)the corporation are ruining your jobs as well your living wages..the clintons are playing politics very dirty and playing the race card since new hampshire..hey, everyone should be asking the washington post about photos that bill clinton are making fun of blacks wearing a black wig and playing a saxaphone and poking fun of a disabled child too..somebody need to pull that out so everyone can see what type of man what he really is..i don't trust hillary because she has destroyed the democratic party with her deception of using old republican tactics to use against obama.. every since over 40 years ago, black people have been voting for white politicans(no matter what positions)we've voted for them..but we vote for a man who is talking about real issues not just black issues, they call us stuipd..it's very annoying and i am sick of it..if the superdelegates listen to hillary clinton, they will have to answer to everyone african american voters in this country why did they flipped the script and used us to help her?..they better go by pledge delegates not by superdelegates...hey, it will be revolting movement to take every politican who supported her and make them lose their jobs for the first time because these people are taking us for granted..everyone must go out and vote and don't let the clintons as well GOP play you too..

I loved the sermon and Thank You so much for making a way for us to hear the sermon, in its entirety, on your site. There is an old African proverb that says: "When you tell the truth, you will be run out of seven villages." This what is now being done to Rev. Wright because he is a truth teller about America, its history in this land and in the world. The policies and laws that have been instituted so often are the cause of actions that are so contrary to the Christian values that so many of its leaders declare to revere and live by. When Blacks speak truthfully of America and its history, its true history and current policies, it invokes fear and loathing from many whites who only want the truth to unrevealed and buried. Just like the town in Texas, I think it is Arlington, Texas that is suing some victims of a display of racial hatred, where someone wrote racial epithets and curses on their garage door. Then, they beat up the woman who lived there. The Black victims have not replaced the garage door yet and are letting it remain as a reminder of the hate and violence that was visited upon them for no reason. The town of Arlington is suing them now for not replacing the garage door which bear the symbols of the hate of some of this area's hateful occupants. This incident is symbolic of what occurs in America everyday when Black people are blamed for their anger when racism is rained upon them everyday. Arlington is a microcosm of the climate of hate and blame that exists in greater Amerikkka.

Mainstream media is controlled by corporations who want to maintain the status quo. The Clintons are part of the New World Order regime (which includes most of those politicians and business leaders who attended Yale University and are members of the Skull and Bones).

Of course they are going to find something to villify Barack Obama with just like they did John Kerry about the Swift Boats and Howard Dean when he whopped it up during his campaign.

This tatic is used to try and assault someone's character and cast doubt into the common man's mind. Unfortunately, we have so many closet racists and people who do not know how to think for themselves, that it is quite easy to utilize this tatic effectively.

Until the majority of people in the United States grow some guts and stand up for our rights, like the commoners in revolutionary France did against the monarchy, we will keep being taken for granted and fattened like geese for pate.

In the words of Silky Slim from the movie Uptown Saturday Night, "Never have so few owed so much to so many".

Thank you, Mr. Martin, God vs. Government is a powerful sermon. I am a former Deacon in the baptist church, serving in that officer for ten years. Is America without sin? Is that her patriots' defense? The Bible is full of judgement on Kindoms. I have heard Pastor John Hagee, Ron Parsely and the late Dr. James Kennedy give a number of seroms on God's judgement of America. However, Psalm 109 would be an excellent sermon to an oppressed people. In the book of Revelation, there will surely be judgement by God.

Roland, thank you for allowing us to hear the full message but I did not have to hear it to understand Rev. Wright and what he was trying to say. Your coworkers in the media are very good at copy and pasting, this did not start with the computer era.
This is a powerful message and the reason you dont see a Lou Dobbs, or an O'Reily and the rest of the bunch, listening to the message in full is because perhaps it would convict that racist sporit inside of them.Perhaps they might have to change eh? This is Barack Obama's time and God has his hand on him. The racist of this world will look at him as a "Black" man and would rather have a senile "white" man in that oval office than to have an intelligent MAN period, who happens to be in a black covering. God has already blessed America, but America has "Damned" God with racism.Father have mercy on America!!!

Minister Carol Hicks

Roland, thank you for putting this out there. I knew when Obama started to run for the POTUS people were going to try to "swiftboat" him using his pastor & church. If I knew, I'm sure he & Wright both anticipated this. With the internet and diligent brothers like you, people can get the truth.

I believe, when the dust settles, Obama will be vindicated for not "throwing Pastor Wright under the bus". Obama will gain the respect of many for standing for his convictions even when it was not politically expediant to do so.

Keep up the good work.

I pray that Senator Obama will ignore the ignorant and focus on his passage to the White House. He is a gentleman; a great statesman. We need to have a day of prayer for the U.S. Pastor Wright didn't say anything that wasn't true. It is true that perhaps he could have used euphemism in certain parts of the message. I am sure that he (Pastor Wright) followed his heart and what God was telling him to say. We should be so careful about who we attempt to knock down.

Thank you Roland for allowing us to hear the complete sermon. My heart goes out to Rev. Wright and Sen Obama. I can feel the hurt and pain of each of them for being condemned by soundbites and Obama having to condemn the words for polical reason. I saw you on CNN trying to get them to listen to more than the soundbites. Rick Sanchez made a litte more of a stab at it. But, it was not enough. How do we correct the wrong? Thanks again. I am looking forward to hearing the sermon about Hillary Clinton.

Thanks Roland. As I listened to guest of color on various talk shows, I began to wonder if I was actually living on another planet. At least in the rule of law opposing views are allowed to be heard. For the sound bites aired to be shown over and over again without any objectivity serves as a indication how far this country has come in the last 40 years since MLKs death.

I pray every day for Dr. Wright and his family, because the man I know is the perfect symbol of truth. There isn't a greater minister in this country than Dr. Wright and he is indeed the prototype preacher of our times. I thank God for continuing to send us prophets like Dr. King, Elijah Muhammad, Tom Todd, Dr. Julia Hare and, yes, Minister Louis Farrakhan, who speaks to the pain and suffering of our people. I am glad we are not all afraid to speak truth to power!

i listened to the whole sermon "God damn America".. it's moving & truthful .. .. After listening , i see why the media has backed off , there is no hatred here, it sounds like a man fed up with unfair government dating all the way back to the B.C. ages.. Rev. Wrights sermon sounds as if he is trying to reach out and spark someone in this generation to be that new CHANGE in government. It shows he has optimism for this country . God Bless America and Rev Wright.

Thank you! Please use your influence to get this out to the masses of Americans. I know you can't play the whole sermon, but do what you can. This has hurt Obama with his White supporters and those that attend church will have a much better understanding after hearing the relavant parts of the sermon.

Roland,
Pastor Wright's sermon is enlightening and nothing but the TRUTH. I guess the truth hurts. I am a Hindu and I welcome this sermon. It is so good that there are black Journalists like you Roland who are not afraid of defending the truth. I also respect you for not being a part of the system.

I am in the UK and have been watching this whole issue unfold. Black Americans should voice their support for Reverend Wright. I pray that Senator Obama gets through this. If he is not elected President, it is because they were never going to elect him, this issue has nothing to do with it. The Clinton's have also shown their true colours. I am offended that Bill Clinton is thought of as a black man. He will never know what it is to be a black man.

That God put these words in the mouth of this minister is pretty awesome. I've ALWAYS known this!!! The truth hurts for those who have a problem with the truth! I am enthralled! That sermon was nothing but the truth!! Too many "ministers" and politician say what others want to hear. I loved that sermon and will listen to it again and again! Yes indeed, these racist acts go way back in history. I think a change is going to come! It is disgusting what the media puts out in the form of "news!" I have been praying for a change, it is time!!!!!!!

'You can do nothing against the truth but for the truth'
'Have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth'
these are scriptures from the Bible and if we rightly divide the word of truth it is telling us that God knows the beginning from the end. Before Sen. Obama had gotten this far the spirit of God already knew this was going to be & if you really saved, born again, filled w/the Spirit of God - worshipping Him in Spirit & in Truth you would know you got to go through to get to.

God always raises up a leader, born to do a work in the Kingdom of God in earth. There's another scripture that comes to mind that says 'Agree w/ thine adversary quickly...'. We've got to become better Bible readers, scholars, study to show ourselves approved & discern the time.

By the way what is Hillary & Bill Clinton Pastor's name or what church service do they attend?

But seriously, who is Hilary Clinton's Pastor- since everybody is so holier than thou in this election....
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/03/25/clinton-rev-wright-would-not-have-been-my-pastor/

You must be doing something right Roland- Faux News & Bill O'reilly seems to be taking issue with you

Roland,- I listened to the entire "Chickens..Roost" sermon. It's funny how Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, Rick Roberts, and Michael Savage refuse to play the entire sermon, and comprehend the Reverend's call to "get ourselves right with God." All they hear is the infamous "Chickens are coming home to roost", track that back to Malcolm X, and uh oh...Obama's one of "them"!!! Free minded people will seek the truth, and decide for themselves.

Thank you so much as i grew up in Mississippi and has seen a lot in only 47 years i know how we as blacks where and still are being treated in this year of 2008.God bless Pastor Wright and Obama. Pastor Wright was on time with all that he said.We need to wake up as a people.

THANK YOU, ROLAND!!! This is the most powerful sermon I have ever heard!! and, THANK YOU, DR. WRIGHT, for inspiring and uplifting me over the years.

Thank you Sir for displaying this. It is all true! And God never changes.

Thank you for providing me with the entire sermon. Although I do not agree with everything Rev. Wright said, I respect his calling. However, I do agree with him on a large portion of his sermons. To expect Obama to denouce Pastor Wright is so very wrong. Not one catholic in American was expected to denouce their belief or their Priest or any part of their connection to being Catholic when the unveiling of molestation of minor boys all across the America was being revealed. Very, very few catholics changed their catholic beliefs or moved their membership. So why would or should Obama change his church.

I didn't go (away) to church this morning. Instead I listened to Rev. Wright's now very famous sermon about Confusing God and Government. He can be my pastor every Sunday morning if he pleases! I am a white woman who rejoiced in every word he said; Barack is lucky to have such a great friend and mentor.

Thanks very much Roland for your insight and dilligence in making this sermon, as well as the 9/11 sermon available to us. I searched the internet and could not find an unabridged transcript any where. So, I took the 9/11 recording Roland Martin provided on his Blog and created an unabridged transcript.

If anyone is interested you can download the unabridged 9/11 transcript from www.blakfacts.blogspot.com and print it out. Whether you read it or hear it, you'll find that it has a positive message based on Psalm 137. The "chickens came home to roost" quote was just one statement out of a 35 minute sermon.

When you put his words in context he was quoting the American ambassador to Iraq at the time as having made a statement that was equivalent to Malcolm X's speech that used the phrase "the chickens came home to roost," in reference to the assasination of JFK.

The pundits have tried to cast his sermon in a negative light, particularly because of this statement. However, by taking it out of context they've really done the American public a disservice. Pastor Wright's message was clearly focused on the transformation of our society into a more loving and caring one, as opposed to one filled with hate, for our enemies.

IT'S THE TRUTH ANYWAY ! IT IS WRITTEN IN BLACK & WHITE, AND IT'S DOCUMENTED !

GOD WILL NOT REWARD WICKEDNESS AND HE IS JUST !

White people are eager to denounce Rev. Wright's sermon because they are afraid that it will motivate Black Americans to wake up! White people would love for you to think that we have made "progess" since slavery. Nothing has changed and this presidential election and the very fact that this is an issue supports the fact that nothing has changed. You people (Black Americans) need to WAKE UP before it's too late. WAKE UP! Don't let White America cloud your head with smoke and mirrors!

"progress" my bad

Thanks Roland, the entire speech should be made available to any person considering voting for Oboma. It provides total clarity of the true hatred this "man of God" spews in his "church". How anyone running for the presidency could stomach such vitriol hatred for his country is beyond comprehension. I would guess that if most Americans heard this and linked it to Oboma his campaign would be over immediately.
I agree that the media has not done its' job. To think that this junk was not made public until well into the campaign is an indictment of the media. The fact that the entire speech is not readily available now is also an indictment.
Just one factual correction. War can bring true peace. Shall I list all the countries in the world that now live in peace including religous freedom because of the actions of the US military. Start with Dday through the Berlin wall coming down. America is not perfect. It is however the best country in the human history. Yes the Constitution did say that slaves were 3/5ths of a man. The Constitution was built on solid principals that have allowed it to end slavery and provide for as much equality as possible in a world that is not just. That Constitution also set in motion a worldwide revolution for freedom that lives and breathes today. I only wish that Dr. Wright and his wayward flock could appreciate it, including Mr. Oboma

Thank you for posting the sermon, by doing this I had a chance to hear it for myself. That said, I believe it was going fine until it got towards the end, in all honesty. It reminded me of the City of Detroit mayor's address; great until the end. At least three parts of the sermon I didn't agree with. Aids as a plot against Black folk, where's the proof? Tiger saying he's Cabanasian, he is free to say and speak his heredity as he sees it, isn't he? And why encourage a belief that God's wants to curse America how does that help? So, like other pastors when they move from the bible and Jesus Christ I think they sway into dangerous ground. But I did like 90% of God not Government....

I think this was a great surmon. People who are for Clinton or the Republicans will always take things out of context. I found it to be a great surmon, not sure about the part of HIV but if it is true I am not surprised. Thanks Roland for being the only person in the media who wants to get the truth out!

Roland,
Thank you for the opportunity to hear the sermon of Rev. Wright. It was truly inspirational and powerful. It is also sad how the media have spin it out of content. I must say racism is alive and well. The sermon has also confirm how the wrath of GOD may and will come down on America for her deeds. This truly a time for prayer for our country and government.

America; You Can't Handle The SHO NUFF TRUTH!

What about Obama rebuking and rejecting Wright. I really thought they were together on this one.

Most American people cannot look in the mirror and acknowlege their own sinful nature. The prophets of old told them to repent and they did not until after they were held in slavery by various empires. Those empires no longer exist. How long does the American empire think it will stand when it enslaves its own people and invades other countries as the Romans did? Pastor Wright merely pointed that out in his sermon and the American people couldn't stand to hear it.

I heard the sermon in it's entirety and I will say that the message of confusing government with God is not a new or unique message. Instead of the country doing anything and saying, "God is with us" and trying to paste a heavenly endorsement that won't come, we should be asking, "Are we with God?" and line ourselves up to what God wants.

Rev. Wright's delivery is stronger, but it's to be expected. He's tailoring the sermon to reach his congregation. One thing I will nitpick is that he ventures away from Biblical examples and historical examples and inserts present day issues and perceptions that are not objective yet.

He wanders away from the Bible to endorse a political party, which is a big no-no for the churches which have 501(c)3 non-profit status. I think it was an indulgence of his (not God) to prop up Bill Clinton. Monica, anyone? I also disagree with his stand on abortion and think that it contradicts what a reverend should support. I just mention these because these were the things that were distracting me from his core message.

As for the recent comments by Rev. Wright which caused Obama to reject him, I strongly believe it is wrong for a reverend to try to grab the spot light. He didn't try to clarify the sermon message. He tried to soothe his hurt ego, something that a reverend should not have in great measure. What happened to turning the other cheek or blessing those that curse you.

One thing I like about Obama is that he seems to have come to his faith without checking his brain at the church doors. He still uses that brain to determine whether a preacher is going off-tangent, just like the Bereans checked the Scriptures to see if the Apostles' and early Christians' sermons were true.
