Racial epithets shouted at Palin rally
JACKSONVILLE - I literally just landed in the Sunshine State and my greeter said, "This city is full of rednecks."
The same could be said of Clearwater, Fla., where Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin held a rally yesterday and, let's just say things got ugly.
According to multiple media reports, including Dank Milbank of the Washington Post, things got ugly at one of her events where she blasted Sen. Barack Obama for consorting with a domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers.
"Palin's routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness," Milbank wrote today. "In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her 'less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.' At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, 'Sit down, boy.'"
Has the McCain-Palin campaign denounced such statements, and apologized to the African American sound man? Nope.
In fact, during a discussion with Rick Sanchez on CNN, Milbank said another racial epithet was shouted, and I'm assuming it was "nigger."
Now the McCain-Palin camp wants to say that Obama shouldn't be trusted for his so-called associates, but what about the people who are coming out to hear Palin? Should we trust these bigots?
I don't want to hear any crap about people getting excited and being passionate about their candidate. This is the kind of hate that no one likes.
The McCain camp has instigated a lot of this because Palin has made it her mission to make a lot about Ayers, a guy who was a domestic terrorist in the 1960s. Oh yea, Obama was just 8-years-old at the time.
But get used to it. We're going to see a whole lot more of this over the next 29 days, especially with Obama widening his lead in the polls over McCain.

Did they not see this coming? When you cater to the "6 pack Joe", or "Rural american", they were appealing to the racists, minority phobic citizens. When you get them "angry" and compare him to being a "terrorits", you get them overly aggressive! Both McCain and Palin know what they are doing, and guess what, so do the voters.

There is no excuse for racial slurs against members of any race. But as a rural American, I resent the comment of NoHate08 who calls me a racist. That's the same kind of stereotyping that the racists do. And it is no different whether the stereotype is based on race, religion, income, ethnicity, region of the country, or proximity to a city. NoHate08, please retract your derogatory comment.
Thank you.
P.S. William Ayers was a terrorist, and he stands by his actions. So questioning Obama's judgment in accepting Ayers help to get his campaign going is legitimate. The Obama campaign tacitly acknowledges this fact, because their justification is that Obama didn't know about Ayers past. The implication is that, had Obama known, he wouldn't have done it.

William does not stand by his actions he denounced terrorism what was barack Obama supposed to do ask his co-worker when I was eight did you blow any buildings ayers is now a respected profession at the university of Illinois. Barack Obama said that he denounced what he did as well. Also, a rabbi was on TV saying the Obama started his campaign in his house not ayers

Wesley...get the hell out of here...Fox News is the more appropriate venue for your smears. You need to learn to get the facts STRAIGHT.
What the Obama campaign said was that at the time of the meet and greet hosted by William Ayers (which was actually for Alice Palmer to announce her run for the US congress moreso than to introduce Obama), Obama was not aware of his past dealings. Most people don't go around doing background checks on everyone they come across. Obama is not King of the World and in coming up in the Chicago scene it was not his place nor within his power to remove Ayers from charity boards that actually did admirable work in the community. So miss me with all this guilt by association bs. Besides, the relationship between Obama and Ayers was discussed months ago and after months of investigative work being done by everyone from Fox News to the NY Times they came up with NOTHING. So get OVER it!
If you want to talk about judgement though, let's talk about McCain sitting o the board of the US Council of World Freedom. Let's talk about McCain and Palin using inflammatory rhetoric to incite violence from their racist supporters. Since you are so offended by accusations of racism, where is your condemnation of their actions in encouraging racial divides? Let's talk about John McCain's racist judgement to oppose Dr. King holiday for 20 years! Let's talk about Sarah Palin being married to a man who was registered member for 7 years of the treasonous Alaska Independence Party which had ties to Iran and wanted to secede from the United States! Let's talk about Sarah Palin abusing her power in trying to get her ex-brother in law fired! The list goes on man...and I can guarantee that the McCain Palin ticket has tons more skeletons in their closets. And if you want to get the issues...McCain's judgement is dangerously wrong time and time again.
Posted by: Reecie | October 07, 2008 at 07:49 PM
Judgement...hmmm. It would seem to me that if many of the claims argued by Reecie were true, then they would have surfaced by now. Keep scratching and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. What is so disturbing about this is that so many black liberals are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to claim that the McCain Palin ticket is racist when in fact, the Democrats are much closer to objectifying black people than are conservatives or Republicans. If you want to dig up dirt, do it on BOTH sides. Accept the fact that Obama has ties to less than favorable individuals and yes, accept that these ties do reflect poor judgement. Specifically, a Harvard educated lawyer knows exactly who he's befriending at all times, especially one as ambitious as Obama. Look, if we are thinking critically here (and many of us are not) then we could accept the fact that making assumptions like "I'm assuming that it was n*****" (as quoted by the host blogger) is just as ignorant as one claims the original comments to be. This type of discourse and thought process keeps you (us) where you've (we've) been for the past 35+ years by declaring your (our) allegiance to the Democratic party; struggling, floundering, and huddling under the umbrella of victimization with HOPES (the audacity of...) that a savior will come and rescue you (us) from this terrible existance that is white America. Freedom, we need it.

McCain/Palin knew the mess behind trying to bring Obama down! All of you know the racist mess is not needed in our society today! Just like everybody has to treat Palin with gloves, this goes for Obama as well, If McCain/Palin condones this, then the People of the US already know what type of President and Vice President these two will be and hopefully the Polls will continue to climb by a landslide! There smear Campaign is awful and I am so shocked by people who cannot calculate a time line. I also advise all of you to read Palin and Todds assciation with AIP which is just as bad!! See Palin has a past as well!

Okay, for those republicans (aka John McCain staffers) who are posting on this site, you really want us to believe the McShame/Palin are not racist? Are you serious? I am a highly educated black female who went to school in Florida and I can tell you that the term "terrorist" is the safe way to call Barack a "nigga" or any other derogatory term. It incites fear in people who by the way are dumb enough to believe this BS put out by Palin. Then you have the nerve to say that Democrats are the true racists??? Please. I just wish true racists would just be real and say "I am not voting for Barack because he is black". I think I would respect you more if you just said that. But to try and put lies and half-truths out to the American people is ridiculous. Did John McCain look into Keating's background before he took contributions from him? I doubt it. So let's stop being the pot calling the kettle black and being so hypocritical. Everything the McCain campaign is trying to pin on Obama he has done the same if not worse. I am also from Chicago and let me tell you if William Ayers was such a horrible human being he would not be teaching at an Ivey league school such as the University of Chicago (which I also attended).
I am more upset about McCain's lack of respect for Senator Obama by calling him "That one". He is so arrogant and smug and I think the American people know who the real person of integrity is. I DO NOT trust McCain and I sure as hell DO NOT trust Sarah Palin. I think she is using her femininity to get elected and that goes against everything I stand for as a woman. I HATE women like her. It totally discredits the hard work that most women have to put in to get ahead on their jobs, etc. She really makes me sick.
Bottom line: The McCain campaign especially Sarah Palin knows exactly what they were doing by associating Barack with "terrorists". They should be ashamed!

Roland,
Stupid is as stupid does.
As for the Ayers issue, Sen. Obama was 8 years old when Mr. Ayers was arrested for his crimes in the past but was acquitted by a jury of his peers on all counts. Since then he has been a somewhat model citizen in Chicago, not blowing up any buildings or killling people, but helping the poorly educated children of Chicago, mostly children of color, receive a better education, as well as having a legit day job as a Professor at the University of Chicago. The Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, not one you would categorize as a terrorist or have violent leanings, has praised Mr. Ayers for his work in the area of improving education for the children in Chicago.
So the fact that Sen. Obama sat on a board of the Anneberg Foundation with Mr. Ayers in the 1990's, a board that consisted of more than just the two of them, means that all of the other board members, staff, students and anyone else who came into contact with Mr. Ayers then are now to be considered terrorists (based on the Palin logic or illogic).
Let's go to the video tape and see just who Sarah Palin really is:

Any questions?

Right up Paln-Mccain's alley. No surprise. If you would leave fellow vets in Vietnam for personal gain, nothing else should surprise you.

excellent point Michael7 Excellent!!!!...and why not me since and you since we mentioned his Name(OMG!!!!!!!we wrote his name!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Posted by: Avembe | October 09, 2008 at 09:42 AM
Roland,
Thank you Avembe, that type of logical thinking is what's lacking with the MSM. Also, the name of the organization that Sen. Obama and Mr. Ayers worked with was the Anneberg Challenge, the same wife of the founder that is endorsing Sen. McCain. So to use the logic of the McCain/Palin ticket, then Mrs. Anneberg must also be a terrorist because she approved of Mr. Ayers being on the board of her agency.
Yet on most cable shows, that is never mentioned unless you watch The Rachel Maddow Show or Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. How is it that they can report on this but the folks on Morning Joe seem to not be able to access the same information as Keith and Rachel? Doesn't all the reporters on MSNBC use the same research department?
And just so we all know what time it is in America, this is from a very recent McCain/Palin rally in Ohio.

Wonder if Fox News will broadcast this? NOT!!!

Sarah Palin and John McCains stuff has been on the internet for some time. The MSM. There are plenty stories on the names that John McCain have called women and minorities. So he's not talking to us when he's talking about "My Friends". Sarah Palin's husband belonging to the AIP
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-f-kennedy-jr/alaskan-independence-part_b_133261.html has been out for a long time totally ignored by MSM. Faux News/Fixed News/Fox News is a joke.
If anyone wants to email the media this is my list. I'm tired of complaining and I have been working very hard on getting information out to as many people as possible, emailing, calling, reminding folks to register to vote and to get out and vote. This election is about your, mines, and our loved ones future and as a comedian once said "Black people gonna fool around and end up being slaves again". Well I see that Mc Cain and Palin could make that joke a reality, so I'm working as hard as I can and hope you will do whatever you can to keep the information flowing.

I'm taking another spin of what I see and what's happening in the political arena. Once again, Sarah Palin is failing at her representation of being a Christian. Her first time was when she paraded her pregnant teenage daughter before Americans glorifying fornication. Poor Judgment! As a christian, I really expected more and for Sarah Palin's light to shine brightly before men. This is a great opportunity and platform for that to happen, and she is just not representing. Not only has she allowed the GOP to use her as a candidate, but she is also allowing them to make her compromise her christian values and stand. The hatred remarks and comments that have come out of her mouth and the mouths of those attending rallies this past week let me see another side of her. Her actions shows that she lacks compassion and will not stand up for truth and what's right when she needs to. And she wants to assist in leading this country?? NOT!! I am also amazed that the evangelical base including pastors, and evangelist aren't even calling her out on this. I know God is not pleased!! This is the hypocrisy that continues to destroy the human race.
I almost wish I was a prophet so I could go and lay some hands on her and prophesy. She would 'sho 'nuff be slained in the Spirit! The GOP is manipulating and controlling her and that is a form of witchcraft for those who are not that spiritually deep. I am so sick and tired of professing Christians hiding their hatred behind the bible. God is not pleased! What's interesting is that they are trying to demonize Obama, but he is the one who is exemplifying true christian behavior. Go Obama!
Even if she didn't hear the racial slurs as she claims, then she should say to campaign advisor that she would not stand for this hatred and before the next rally starts, say I want to address it and let the people know that this will not be tolerated! Insane McCain is just as guilty. She is really one who would do whatever to promote herself even at the expense of her own family and religious beliefs. This is not what a strong leader exemplifies. She is no maverick.
Sarah, you are missing an opportunity to represent truth, and especially Christ.
I am pro-life and a devout Christian, but what I'm seeing from this campaign disgust me and does not deserve my vote.
Go Obama!

Obama campaigners (ie, trolls) have been showing up at the rallies and spouting racial epithets to discredit the Republican party. They've been bombing the sites, stirring up racial hatred while posing as Republicans. The aim of the Democratic party is to discredit and destroy the Republican party and gain ultimate power. Those who believe in integrity and personal responsibility will have to form a new party. You can destroy the Republican party, but never its ideals.

And, no, I'm not racist. Case in point: I voted for a seriously qualified black man (a great heart and mind) over George W. Bush (a clear choice in my opinion). I grew up in the South and the Dixiecrats turned me off completely. There are vestiges of them in the all-white towns all over the South, who believe they are the "benevolent" caretakers of the minority (but hold on if the demographics change their neighborhoods!). Voting on their side is just another form of slavery.
